Job summary

ARaymond Career Site seeks a Plastic Injection Mold / Die Setter for 1st shift to perform set ups of multi-cavity molds and assist with machine startups as needed on the production floor.

The role requires a minimum of 1 year of IMM setter experience, knowledge of plastics and process parameters, and the ability to lift 55 pounds. Strong English skills and US work eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience as an injection mold setter with various IMM equipment.
• Knowledge of plastic materials and process parameters for injection molding.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools and operate overhead crane.
• Must speak, read and write English fluently and be able to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all internal and OSHA safety procedures and regulations.
• Completely and accurately set up tools for start-ups.
• Complete work orders in SAP for molding equipment or tools.
• Maintain housekeeping and ensure equipment and tools are in good condition.
• Perform in-press preventive maintenance on molds and related components.
• Keep accurate records and documentation on paper, Raypro MES and SAP.
• Support SMED initiatives and keep die-setting area organized.
• Coordinate with material handlers, process technicians and supervisor to meet production and shipping requirements.
• Help with CI and OpEx initiatives and look for safety, quality, and cost improvements.
• Work overtime when necessary.

Plastic Injection Mold / Die Setter - 1st Shift

Responsible for performing set ups of multi-cavity plastic injection molds. When necessary, assists other team members on the production floor with machine startups.

Roles and responsibilities

• Comply with all internal and OSHA required safety procedures and regulations.
• Completely and accurately sets tools for start-ups.
• Complete work orders in SAP for molding equipment or tools.
• Responsible for maintaining high standard of housekeeping, including appearance and condition of all thermolators, robot pendants and hot runner temperature controllers.
• Responsible for upkeep of machine platens.
• Responsible for in-press preventive maintenance of molds, including dry ice pellet blasting and application of mold cleaner and mold release.
• Responsible for accurate and timely records, including quality and set-up documentation on paper, Raypro MES and SAP.
• Maintains organization of die-setting station to aid in SMED initiatives.
• Maintains company issued tools and equipment.
• Coordination with material handlers, process technicians and supervisor to meet customer production and shipping requirements.
• Stops the process if nonconforming or suspect material is found and follows systematic troubleshooting process.
• Participate in and contribute to ATOMS CI and OpEx initiatives and provide input on how to continuously improve our safety, quality, and cost performance.
• Work overtime when necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• A minimum of one (1) year of experience as an injection mold setter with a range of IMM manufacturer, tonnage, and controller types.
