Job summary

Nova Talent Solutions is seeking a Die Repair professional in a high-volume manufacturing setting. The role focuses on repairing, rebuilding, and maintaining casting and trim dies to original specifications, with hands-on work across active production needs.

The ideal candidate has hands-on die repair experience, an associate degree or journeyman certification, and the ability to work with shop equipment and prints to restore die performance.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform highly skilled tasks and solve complex problems.
• Associate's degree, trade or technical school, or journeyman certificate.
• Months of experience specific to this position; up to 2 years of training.
• On-the-job training may extend to 2 years if experience is short.
• Journeyman papers are a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Receive instructions from Team Leader and/or Supervisor.
• Transport, clean, disassemble, repair, and reassemble casting and trim dies using lift trucks, die cleaning equipment, and cranes as necessary.
• Make repairs, remove stuck castings, correct dimensional problems, change cores and trim punches while dies are mounted on machines.
• Perform welding duties in the foundry and the Die Repair Department.
• Troubleshoot production tooling problems and perform repairs and maintenance as needed.
• Complete forms, die work orders, pictorials, sign-offs, and records as directed.
• Keep work area, equipment, and department neat and orderly.
• Train new employees.
• Perform other duties incidental to safe and efficient operation.

Job Description:

This Die Repair role is responsible for repairing, rebuilding, and maintaining casting and trim dies to original specifications in a high-volume manufacturing environment. The work includes disassembly and reassembly, troubleshooting tooling issues, welding, dimensional corrections, and using prints and shop equipment to restore die performance. Candidates should be comfortable with hands-on tool and die repair work across active production support needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Receive instructions and information from Team Leader and/or Supervisor
• Transport, clean, disassemble, repair, and reassemble casting and trim dies, using lift trucks, die cleaning equipment, and cranes as necessary
• Make repairs, remove stuck castings, correct dimensional problems, change cores and trim punches while casting and trim dies are mounted on machines
• Perform welding duties in the foundry and the Die Repair Department
• Troubleshoot all production tooling problems, performing repairs and maintenance as needed

MUST HAVES

• Associate's Degree, trade or technical school, journey person certificate
• Months of experience specific to this position
• Up to 2 years training required.
• If the employee does not meet the minimum experience required, the employee must complete 2 years of on-the-job training to meet this requirement
• Tool & Die Repair Journeyman Papers is a plus not required

PAY: $33/hr - $35/hr
