Job summary

Kawasaki Tennessee, Inc. in Morristown, TN is seeking a Die Maintenance Tech I for our Aluminum Die Casting facility on the 3rd shift.

Responsibilities include reading drawings, setting up tools, measuring with precision instruments, assembling parts, testing dies, and upholding strict safety standards. Qualified candidates will have commensurate experience, a solid work history, basic math skills, and the ability to work with teams across all levels while supporting continuous improvement

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications of tools, dies, prototypes or models.
• Compute dimensions and tolerances and set up machine tools.
• Position, secure, measure and work metal stock or castings to lay out for machining.
• Set up, operate, and maintain a variety of basic machine shop equipment.
• Verify machined parts for conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
• Fit and assemble or disassemble parts using hand tools.
• Test completed dies or fixtures for proper operation.
• Knowledgeable in procedures and safety measures of designated areas of responsibility.
• Performs regular safety audits.
• Actively participates on Company Safety committee.
• Supports continual improvement initiatives.
• Complies with all TS requirements.

Job Details: Job Location: Kawasaki Tennessee Inc - Morristown, TN, Position Type: Full Time, Salary Range: $19.93 - $26.42Hourly, Job Shift: 3rd Shift, Kawasaki Tennessee, Inc. is currently accepting applications for a Die Maintenance Tech I position in our Aluminum Die Casting facility. Candidates for this position must be willing to work flexible hours and overtime. Position Summary:

• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications of tools, dies, prototypes or models.
• Compute dimensions and tolerances and set up machine tools.
• Position, secure, measure and work metal stock or castings to lay out for machining.
• Set up, operate, and maintain a variety of basic machine shop equipment.
• Verify machined parts for conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments such as Vernier calipers, and micrometers.
• Fit and assemble or disassemble parts using hand tools.
• Test completed dies or fixtures for proper operation.
• Knowledgeable in procedures and safety measures of designated areas of responsibility.
• Performs regular safety audits.
• Actively participates on Company Safety committee.
• Supports continual improvement initiatives.
• Complies with all TS requirements.

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent walking, sitting, standing, squatting, climbing, lifting, and bending.
• Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently throughout a shift.
• Must have good responses and be alert at all times.
• Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
