Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in Chattanooga is seeking a Die Cutter Operator to manage the die-cutting machine and ensure the quality and efficiency of every production run. The role supports a safe, reliable manufacturing process at our facility.

You will set up and operate the die, map the die, load, line up and bolt it, feed the machine at speed, and assist in training others. Responsibilities also include prepping for the next run, evaluating quality, troubleshooting issues, maintaining cleanliness, and

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED minimum.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. May require the ability to write routine reports and correspondence. May require the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Proficient Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Must have prior die cut experience. Requires the ability to react quickly and make continuous adjustments to provide top quality products.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate the die cut machine.
• Cutting matrix, mapping the die & help with make ready
• Load die in the machine, line it up, bolt it in place and lock it down
• Feed machine at speed
• Learning the skills necessary to operate assigned machinery.
• Responsible for prepping machine for the next production run, sheets, dies, etc.
• Evaluate production quality; bring concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
• Assist in training other die cut personnel.
• Troubleshoot production issues that may arise.
• Responsible for the overall Safety and cleanliness of equipment and area.
• Work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Overtime is required.
• Perform other duties as assigned
