Job summary

The Hattiesburg Clinic is seeking a Hemodialysis Technician to join the Hattiesburg Dialysis unit. The role focuses on supporting dialysis treatment, equipment preparation, and patient care under supervision of the Dialysis Nursing Supervisor and Team Leader.

The technician will monitor vital signs during treatment, observe patients for adverse symptoms, document daily duties, and contribute to the unit’s efficiency and safety. On-the-job training and certification are part of the pathway.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; medical/surgical experience preferred.
• On-the-job training in a clinical setting under supervision of medical professionals including successful completion and passing of Hemodialysis Technician Program Certification.
• Ability to use a variety of physical motions in day-to-day activity including standing, bending, turning, stooping, lifting and climbing.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time without fatigue; assist with lifting patients and preparing equipment such as beds, chairs, etc.
• Demonstrates ability to perform a variety of tasks with efficiency and accuracy; tact and patience with chronically ill patients and their families; willingness to accept supervision and function as part of the dialysis team.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical duties in the dialysis unit under supervision of the Dialysis Nursing Supervisor and Team Leader; work independently after instruction.
• Prepare equipment and safety devices for dialysis treatment.
• Monitor vital signs during the treatment process.
• Observe patients for adverse symptoms during dialysis.
• Document assigned duties and contribute to overall unit efficiency and safety.
