Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Minnesota is seeking a Clinical Hemodialysis Technician to join the Dialysis Services team. Under the supervision of the RN, you will provide support in delivering dialysis services, perform essential procedures, monitor water treatment, and assist patients and their families with care needs.

This is a nonexempt, part-time role with 50 hours per pay period, offering 10-hour shifts and a schedule that includes every other Friday/Saturday.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of direct patient care experience preferred.
• Completion of Dialysis Technician training or CNA training preferred.
• Ishihara color blindness test required before employment.
• Excellent communication and computer skills are essential.
• Ability to work flexible hours including days/evenings/nights/holidays/weekends.
• Ability to work with multiple team members and adapt to unpredictable situations.
• Maintain current BLS for Health Care Providers (AHA/Red Cross)
• Certifications: state/national dialysis certification within 18 months where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Direct patient care and observations.
• Assist with basic hemodialysis techniques and procedures.
• Maintain equipment and monitor water treatment.
• Monitor vascular access and perform cleaning/disinfection of dialysis machines.
• Draw blood samples and prepare them for transport; conduct simple/complex lab tests and quality controls.
• Participate in quality improvement activities to maintain patient care standards.
