Qualifications

• Certification as a nursing assistant by Maryland State Board of Nursing (CNA-DT).
• CCHT or BONENT national certification required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• BLS from American Heart Association.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and retrieval.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and assist with patient care.

Responsibilities

• Completes pre, intradialytic, and post dialysis assessment and documents.
• Identifies and prioritizes patient nursing care needs.
• Initiates, monitors, and terminates dialysis treatments per policy.
• Draws periodic lab work per procedure.
• Monitors intake/output and reports to RN.
• Prepares water treatment system and hemodialysis machine for shift.
• Monitors machine readings and dialyzer parameters, adjusting as needed.
• Collaborates with RNs to care for patients, including Labor & Delivery as applicable.
• Maintains cardiovascular status by thermoregulation of patient.
