Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking an entry-level Outpatient RN CAP 1 to join its End-Stage Kidney Disease care team. You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care during dialysis, collaborating with RNs, LVNs/LPNs and Patient Care Technicians to deliver safe, effective therapy.

This role emphasizes education, documentation, emergency response readiness and advancing through CAP requirements. You will work under supervision with opportunities for leadership development and training

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current appropriate state licensure.
• Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification.
• Must meet the practice requirements in the state employed.

Responsibilities

• Performs essential functions under supervision and guidance from the Clinical Educator, Preceptor or other RNs.
• Collects and analyzes patient data during dialysis and updates the treatment plan as needed.
• Provides education to patient and family on learning needs and care.
• Delivers safe hemodialysis therapy in collaboration with care staff.
• Administers medications as prescribed or per approved algorithms.
• Initiates or assists with emergency responses.
• Serves as a resource and participates in staff training and orientation.
• Ensures proper laboratory collection, processing and handling; reschedules missed samples.
• Documents outcomes and updates the care plan with the Interdisciplinary Team.
• Educates patients on transplant and modality options.
• Completes CAP requirements to advance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
