Job summary

Mercy Gilbert Medical Center is seeking a Dialysis Nurse to provide specialized nursing care for patients undergoing dialysis, ensuring safety and optimal outcomes. You will assess patients daily, initiate and monitor dialysis, educate on disease and treatment plans, manage vascular access, and uphold infection control standards.

You will mentor staff, evaluate care quality, and coordinate ethical considerations while ensuring timely patient flow for high-quality care within the Mercy Gilbert

Qualifications

• RN licensed in AZ with dialysis experience.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• Education: ADN/ Diploma/ BSN or foreign equivalent.
• Minimum one year of dialysis experience.

Responsibilities

• Mentor staff in competency, documentation, equipment use and care plans.
• Evaluate care provided by staff and coach to improve quality.
• Maintain standard of care across the unit.
• Understand ethics processes and coordinate Ethics Consults.
• Coordinate patient flow to ensure timely, effective care.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Dialysis Nurse, you will provide specialized, compassionate nursing care for patients undergoing various dialysis treatments, ensuring their safety and optimal clinical outcomes.

Every day you will assess patient conditions, proficiently initiate and monitor dialysis treatments, educate patients on their disease and treatment plan, meticulously manage vascular access, and ensure strict adherence to safety and infection control protocols.

To be successful in this role you will combine a strong clinical background in dialysis with meticulous attention to detail, exceptional patient education skills, and the ability to manage complex care plans while advocating for our patient's well-being.

• Mentors others in areas such as competency, documentation, equipment use, plan of care, National Patient Safety Goals, and participation in inservice education.
• Evaluates care given by staff.
• Coaches to improve care.
• Ensures standard of care is maintained.
• Exhibits a general understanding of the process for dealing with ethical dilemmas and understands and coordinates the process for obtaining an Ethics Consult.
• Coordinates patient flow on the unit to facilitate the provision of timely and effective care.

Job Requirements

Required

• ADN, Diploma, BSN or Foreign Equivalent
• Registered Nurse: AZ
• American Heart Association BLS
• American Heart Association ACLS
• Minimum one year of dialysis experience

Preferred

• Bachelors of Science Nursing
• Charge Nurse experience
• One year of critical care nursing experience in acute care hospital
