Job summary

Northern Nevada Medical Center in Sparks, NV is seeking a part-time Dialysis Registered Nurse for a 24-hour-per-week schedule. The RN will provide care to adult dialysis patients, planning, organizing, and evaluating patient care according to policy. Collaboration with Dialysis Techs is expected as needed.

The role requires current Nevada RN license and BCLS certification, with preference for 1–2 years of dialysis nursing experience. Benefits and a daytime schedule are offered.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved nursing program with active RN license.
• 1–2 years of nursing experience preferred, with dialysis experience valued.
• Current BCLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform renal replacement therapy treatments per nephrologist orders.
• Assess, monitor, and document patient status during dialysis treatments.
• Maintain dialysis equipment and treatment areas in good working order.

This Dialysis Registered nurse opportunity is part time at 24 hours per week, offers full benefits and a convenient dayshift scxhedule. The Registered Nurse working in the Dialysis Program is responsible for independently utilizing nursing practices to care for adult dialysis patients while planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating all patient care safely, therapeutically, and efficiently. The RN may provide guidance and support to patient team members such as Dialysis Techs in accordance with their level of training and the patient’s acuity.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate competent skills to perform renal replacement therapy treatments per nephrologist orders. The Dialysis RN will perform appropriate patient assessments, evaluation, ongoing monitoring, and nursing interventions in accordance with organizational policies and procedures
• Assist in preparing dialysis treatment areas with needed supplies prior to starting treatments and demonstrates knowledge of nursing procedures and nursing care as it relates to renal replacement therapy
• Ensures dialysis machines and equipment are maintained in good working order per policy

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Bachelor or Associate school of nursing and a current state license to practice nursing.
• Preferred 1-2 years of nursing experience with a minimum of 1-2 years in Dialysis nursing.
• Current RN license in the State of Nevada
• Current BCLS Certification.
