Job summary

Alaska Dialysis in Anchorage, AK is seeking a compassionate Dialysis Registered Nurse - Internal Float to join our adult and geriatric ESRD care team. This full-time role involves direct and indirect nursing care, travel within Alaska with overnight stays, and a flexible 36-hour weekly schedule at Laurel Street Dialysis.

You will assess patient needs, educate patients and families, coordinate with physicians and staff, and uphold professional standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing: A.D.N. or nursing diploma required.
• Ability to license in the State of Alaska
• Must be willing to travel throughout the state of Alaska with overnight stays
• Must have a minimum of two years of experience as a registered nurse
• Leadership ability and organizational skills.
• Computer software knowledge.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to understand and implement government standards.
• Strong belief in quality patient care and maximizing clinical performance measures for each patient.

Responsibilities

• Direct and indirect nursing care for adult/geriatric ESRD patients.
• Use nursing process to assess needs and plan care; adjust as needed.
• Educate patients and families; document care plans.
• Maintain communication with physicians and other providers for continuity of care.

Clinic Location: Laurel St. Dialysis, 3950 Laurel St. Anchorage, AK 99508 (Home Clinic) Travel: O vernight travel within the state and dialysis experience is required. Schedule/Hours: Full-time, 36 Hours | Flexible scheduling; no set shifts Benefit Eligibility: Benefits begin the first of the month following 30 days of employment.

The primary responsibilities of this position are:

• Responsible for the direct and indirect nursing care provided for a primarily adult/geriatric ESRD patient population.
• Utilizes nursing process to assess individual patient needs, determine and implement a plan of care, evaluate and revise plan according to changing patient care needs.
• Initiates and provides on-going patient and family education and includes patient/family in care planning, using appropriate forms to document care provided.
• Maintain communication with physicians, ancillary services, and other healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care for each patient.
• Responsible for maintaining standards of professional nursing practice and delegating tasks appropriately.
