U.S. Renal Care is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to join our dialysis care team in Amarillo, TX. You will directly assist patients with safe, high-quality dialysis, monitor during treatment, and collect samples as ordered by physicians.

Responsibilities include machine preparation, cleaning, safety checks, and adherence to policies under supervision. Prior healthcare exposure is a plus; training is provided by USRC. We offer a comprehensive benefits package for applicable roles.

Qualificações

• Previous healthcare experience in dialysis, phlebotomy, or as a CNA is a plus.

Responsibilities

How you will change lives

As a Patient Care Technician (PCT) at US Renal Care, you will be an integral part of a cross-functional team providing care and delegated activities of treatment to patients. The PCT will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Charge Nurse (CN) for patients with renal failure.

What you’ll be doing

Patient care.

You will work directly with patients to provide safe, comfortable, and high-quality dialysis treatment. Responsibilities include gathering patient stats before and after treatment, initiating treatment, monitoring patients during treatment, terminating treatment, and collecting patient blood samples per physician orders.

Technician Duties.

You will ensure quality comes first by preparing machines for hemodialysis treatments, cleaning and disinfecting machines after treatment, and conducting machine safety checks and logging results for quality control, ensuring all protocols and regulations are followed.

Safety and Quality.

You will use appropriate safety measures, including personal protective equipment. Working under the supervision of a Charge Nurse, you will adhere to all company policies, procedures, and state/federal laws and regulations. You will participate in all required staff meetings and continuing education offerings.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Desire to work in healthcare and care for patients in need
• Previous healthcare experience in dialysis, phlebotomy, or as a CNA is a plus

Other requirements

• Successful completion of USRC training program approved by the Medical Director, including demonstrated competency, within 8 weeks of hire.
• Successful completion of USRC training course in the theory and practice of hemodialysis within 8 weeks of hire.
• CPR certification required within 90 days of hire or as required by the state.
• Patient Care Technician certification must be obtained through a state certification program or national commercially available certification program within 18 months of hire date and maintained in good standing thereafter.
• Ability to distinguish all primary colors
• Must be comfortable with mixing acids and bicarbonate according to protocol.
