Job summary

Dialysis Clinic, Inc. in the United States is recruiting a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support our renal care teams in its outpatient clinics. The role involves assisting with dialysis treatments, monitoring patients, and performing related duties under RN supervision.

This part-time position offers a 24-30 hour week across three 10-hour shifts (12:00 pm–9:00 pm), with Sundays off and a comprehensive benefits package including paid training, medical/dental/vision, PTO, and retirement plans.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • CNA, EMT, medical assistant, CNT and/or phlebotomy skills are desirable.
  • DCI provides a 3-month comprehensive education program, including classroom sessions and hands-on training.

Responsibilities

  • Infection control and patient education participation.
  • Guide new patients through 120-day education plan.
  • Record patient vital signs and monitor during treatment.
  • Work under RN supervision.
  • Set up and break down dialysis blood system for treatment.
  • Insert and remove patient access needles.
  • Monitor patient during dialysis and report concerns to nurse.

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) provides care to patients with end-stage renal disease, supporting clinical staff throughout the dialysis treatment process to deliver prescribed treatments. Our PCTs are an integral part of the interdisciplinary team in ensuring safe care and the highest quality outcomes for every patient.

Schedule

Part-time, 24-30 hours/week @ three 10-hour shifts, 12:00 pm-9:00 pm; works 3rd shift and Saturdays.

Compensation

Pay range from $16.50-$25.60 per hour, depending on health-care experience; experience not required.

Responsibilities
  • Actively participate in infection control, risk management and patient education activities
  • Guide new patients through 120‑day education plan
  • Obtain and record patient vital signs and machine readings during treatment
  • Work under RN supervision
  • Set up and break down dialysis blood system for treatment
  • Insert and remove patient access needles
  • Monitor patients during dialysis, document changes and inform charge nurse of any concerns
  • Calculate patient's weight loss to reach dry weight
  • Determine patient care priorities and organize workload accordingly
  • Maintain professional working relationship, observing patient privacy and rights
  • Maintain and track inventory
  • Perform laboratory work
Qualifications

Education / Training:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Previous health-care experience preferred, but not required
  • CNA, EMT, medical assistant, CNT and/or phlebotomy skills desired
  • DCI provides a 3‑month comprehensive education program, including classroom group sessions and one‑on‑one skills training
  • Dialysis experience not required, job shadow opportunities available
