Dialysis Clinic, Inc. is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support dialysis treatment and patient care in a full-time role in Frankfort, KY. You'll work with the clinical team under RN supervision, participating in education programs and hands-on training.

The position emphasizes infection control, patient confidentiality, and teamwork, with a structured 120-day education plan and opportunities to learn dialysis techniques. Training is provided on-site with Sundays off.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Healthcare experience preferred, but not required.
• DCI provides a 3-month comprehensive education program with classroom and hands-on training.
• Dialysis experience not required; job shadow opportunities available.

The Patient Care Technician (PCT)

provides care to patients with end-stage renal disease, supporting clinical staff throughout the dialysis treatment process to deliver prescribed treatments. Our PCTs are an integral part of the interdisciplinary team in ensuring safe care and the highest quality outcomes for every patient.

Schedule

Full-time, four 10-hour shifts starting at 4:30am; Sundays off; no overnight shifts

Compensation

Pay range from $18.50-$24.85 per hour, depending on healthcare experience; experience not required

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in infection control, risk management and patient education activities
• Guide new patients through 120-day education plan
• Obtain and record patient vital signs and machine readings during treatmentRole under RN supervision
• Set up and break down dialysis blood system for treatment
• Insert and remove patient access needles
• Monitor patients during dialysis, document changes and inform charge nurse of any concerns
• Calculate patient's weight loss to reach dry weight
• Determine patient care priorities and organize work load accordingly
• Maintain professional working relationship, observing patient privacy and rights
• Maintain and track inventory
• Perform laboratory work

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills

Education/Training

• High school diploma or GED required
• Previous healthcare experience preferred, but not required
• CNA, EMT, medical assistant, CNT and/or phlebotomy skills desired
• DCI provides a 3-month comprehensive education program, including classroom group sessions and one-on-one skills training
• Dialysis experience not required, job shadow opportunities available
