Job summary

U.S. Renal Care in Baltimore is seeking a Patient Care Technician to join our dialysis team. You will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Charge Nurse to provide safe, comfortable dialysis treatment and collect patient vitals before and after sessions.

You will help with machine setup, cleaning and disinfecting equipment, and participate in quality and safety checks. The role requires CPR within 90 days and completion of the training program; we support growth and a lasting

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Desire to work in healthcare and care for patients.
  • Dialysis, phlebotomy, or CNA experience would be a plus.
  • Ability to safely mix chemical solutions following strict safety protocols.
  • Ability to distinguish all primary colors.

  • Patient care: assist with safe, high-quality dialysis and monitor patients’ vital signs.
  • Safety & quality: prepare machines, disinfect equipment, and perform safety checks per protocols.

How you will change lives

As a Patient Care Technician (PCT) at U.S. Renal Care, you will be an integral part of a cross-functional team providing care and delegated activities of treatment to patients. The PCT will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Charge Nurse for patients with renal failure.

Responsibilities
What you'll be doing

Patient care. You will work directly with patients to provide safe, comfortable, and high-quality dialysis treatment. Responsibilities include gathering patient vital signs before and after treatment,initiatingtreatment, monitoringpatientsduring treatment,terminatingtreatment, and collecting patient blood samples perphysicianorders.

Safety & Quality. Youwill ensure quality comes first by preparing machines for hemodialysis treatments,cleaningand disinfecting machines after treatment, and conducting machine safety checks and logging results for quality control, ensuring all protocols and regulations are followed.You will useappropriate safetymeasures, including personal protective equipment.

Partnership. You'llbe a critical member of an interdisciplinary teamprovidingrequired patient assessment and care planning activities.Working under the supervision of a Charge Nurse, you will adhere to all company policies, procedures, and state/federal laws and regulations. You willparticipatein all required staff meetings and continuing education offerings.

Qualifications

What we're looking for

  • High schoolgraduateor equivalent
  • Desire to work in healthcare and care for patients.
  • Previous healthcare experience in dialysis, phlebotomy, or as a CNA is a plus.
  • Ability to safely mix and prepare chemical solutions following strict safety protocols
  • Ability to distinguish all primary colors.
Other requirements
  • Successful completion ofUSRCtraining program approved by the Medical Director, includingdemonstratedcompetency; this includes successful completion ofUSRCtraining course in the theory and practice of hemodialysis within8 weeksof hire.
  • CPR certification required within 90 days of hire or as required by the state.
  • Patient Care Technician certification must be obtained through a state certification program or national commercially available certification program within 18 months of hire date and maintained in good standing thereafter. Specific state requirements may be applicable and required.
