Job summary

Liberty Administrative Services, LLC is seeking a compassionate dialysis technician for our Anchorage clinic to provide care for adult/geriatric ESRD patients before, during, and after dialysis treatments. You will prepare equipment, monitor patients, and support a safe, efficient clinic environment.

The role requires CPR within 90 days of hire, CMS certification completion within the required timeline, and basic computer skills to document patient data and assist with orders.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Cares for and monitors patients before, during, and post dialysis treatment.
  • Prepares dialysis machine and its components for treatment.
  • Transports patients and records vital signs including weight, temp, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.
  • Explains dialysis procedure and operation of the hemodialysis machine to patients.
  • Inspects and maintains access sites and equipment settings to safety standards.
  • Starts and monitors treatment, responding to adverse reactions or machine malfunctions.
  • Assists in inventory and supply stocking in the dialysis clinic.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cares for and monitors patients before, during, and post dialysis treatment.
  • Prepares dialysis machine and its components for treatment.
  • Transports patients, records patient's weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse rate and respiration rate.
  • Explains dialysis procedure and operation of hemodialysis machine to patient before treatment to allay anxieties.
  • Inspects and cleans area of access (fistula, graft, or catheter)
  • Inspects equipment settings, including pressures, conductivity (proportion of chemicals to water), and temperature to ensure conformance to safety standards.
  • Starts patient treatment according to physician order. Monitors patient for adverse reaction and hemodialysis machine for malfunction.
  • Assists in inventory and supply stocking in the dialysis clinic.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent - evidence of such is required pre-employment.
  • Minimum of 3 months of dialysis, phlebotomy, or CNA/PCA experience preferred.
  • CPR certification required within 90 days of hire.
  • Ability to distinguish primary colors - as demonstrated by passing the Ishihara Color Vision Test.
  • Successful completion of our dialysis training program, including demonstrated competency, within 12 weeks of hire.
  • Must meet Center for Medicaid/Medicare Services (CMS)-approved national certification requirements within the CMS timeline. Certification must be maintained as current and in good standing.
  • Must be flexible to work most days/times (no set shifts).
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of the English language and ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Must have basic computer skills; proficiency in all clinical applications is required within 90 days of hire.
  • Must be able to organize time and tasks well.
  • Required use of problem solving, analytical and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
  • Must have interpersonal skills necessary to work with patients, staff, and all other individuals as required.
  • Ability to multi-task in an efficient, professional, and calm manner.
