St. Luke's University Health Network is seeking a Dialysis Float Nurse for per diem daytime shifts in Bethlehem, PA.

The RN will provide individualized patient care using the nursing process, collaborate with the care team, and support unit goals within a dialysis setting. The ideal candidate will have dialysis experience or medical/surgical background, hold an active PA/NJ RN license, and maintain BLS certification.

Qualifications

  • Current RN license in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
  • One year medical/surgical experience preferred, or experience in hemodialysis.
  • Evidence of successful completion of BLS.

Responsibilities

  • Performs in depth, systematic assessment of all assigned patients.
  • Formulates collaborative plan of care and identifies expected patient outcomes.
  • Implements, evaluates and documents patient care interventions per care plan.
  • Organizes, coordinates and prioritizes patient care with available resources.
  • Coordinates care with physicians, social workers, dietitians and other staff.
  • Maintains departmental records for administrative and regulatory purposes.
  • Contributes to unit goals and growth of the Patient Care Services Department.
  • Assumes responsibility for a clean, orderly environment.

Maintains departmental records for administrative and regulatory purposes.* Participates in identifying unit needs and supporting unit goals and objectives then contributes to the growth of the Patient Care Services Department.* Assumes responsibility for a clean, orderly environment**PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:**Sit up to 2 hours per day; 1 hour at a time. Stand for up to 10 hours per day; 8 hours at a time. Walk 6 hours per day; 10 minutes at a time. Consistently lift, carry and push objects up to 10 lbs. Occasionally lift, carry and push objects up to 50 lbs. Transport patients weighing up to 300 lbs. via wheelchair, bed and /or stretcher. Frequently stoop and bend. Frequently reach above shoulder level. Must be able to perceive attributes of an object through touch. Must be able to hear as it relates to normal conversation, and high and low frequencies. Must be able to see as it relates to general, near, far, color, and peripheral vision.**EDUCATION:**Current RN license in the State of Pennsylvania and New Jersey required.**TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:**One year medical/surgical experience preferred, or experience in hemodialysis.
