Las Palmas Medical Center in El Paso, Texas, is seeking a PRN Dialysis Equipment Technician to ensure the safe operation and repair of dialysis machines, water systems and related equipment. The role supports patient care by keeping critical lines and devices in peak condition under the direction of the Unit Director.

The technician performs water treatment maintenance, quality control testing, and equipment startup/shutdown with care and attention to safety.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience maintaining and repairing dialysis machines.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety for patients and staff during operation.

Job Summary And Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for the operational condition, maintenance, and repair of all water systems, dialysis machines, mechanical and electrical systems, and other medical equipment; so as to ensure safety of the patients as well as the staff operating the equipment.

POPULATION SERVED:

Core competencies will be assessed primarily on the following patient population(s): Inpatient’s that require acute care dialysis treatment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Participate, and if necessary, oversee, in the maintenance and repair of all water treatment equipment, dialysis machines, medical equipment and mechanical/electrical systems as recommended by the manufacturer and by procedures established by Las Palmas Medical Center.
• Perform administrative duties as delegated by the Unit Director.
• Perform all water treatment system maintenance and quality control testing.
• Shared responsibility with direct patient care staff for the start up and shut down of the facility equipment under management’s direction.
• Possess a comprehensive knowledge of the function and safe operation of backup water treatment equipment and related mechanical and electrical systems.
• Possess a familiarity with catalogs and instruction manuals for the facility’s equipment.
• Other duties as assigned
