Job summary

Las Palmas Medical Center in El Paso, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a PRN Dialysis Equipment Technician responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of water systems, dialysis machines, and related medical equipment to keep patients and staff safe.

You will perform preventive maintenance, tests, and start-up/shutdown tasks under supervision, with duties including administrative support and keeping manuals and catalogs handy.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Maintenance and repair of dialysis machines.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair water treatment equipment, dialysis machines, and related mechanical and electrical systems as specified by manufacturers and facility procedures.
  • Perform administrative duties as delegated by the Unit Director.
  • Conduct water treatment system maintenance and quality control testing.
  • Assist with start-up and shutdown of facility equipment under supervision.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of backup water treatment equipment operation and related systems.
  • Familiarity with equipment catalogs and manuals for the facility’s equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary and Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for the operational condition, maintenance, and repair of all water systems, dialysis machines, mechanical and electrical systems, and other medical equipment; so as to ensure safety of the patients as well as the staff operating the equipment.

POPULATION SERVED:

Core competencies will be assessed primarily on the following patient population(s): Inpatient’s that require acute care dialysis treatment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Participate, and if necessary, oversee, in the maintenance and repair of all water treatment equipment, dialysis machines, medical equipment and mechanical/electrical systems as recommended by the manufacturer and by procedures established by Las Palmas Medical Center.

  • Perform administrative duties as delegated by the Unit Director.

  • Perform all water treatment system maintenance and quality control testing.

  • Shared responsibility with direct patient care staff for the start up and shut down of the facility equipment under management’s direction.

  • Possess a comprehensive knowledge of the function and safe operation of backup water treatment equipment and related mechanical and electrical systems.

  • Possess a familiarity with catalogs and instruction manuals for the facility’s equipment.

  • Other duties as assigned
