Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in Southlake, TX, is seeking a dialysis patient care technician to join the health care team. Under supervision of a licensed nurse, you will set up and operate hemodialysis machines and help maintain a safe, clean environment.

You'll monitor patient responses, record vital signs, adjust treatment parameters as ordered, and contribute to CQI activities to improve patient outcomes. The role requires teamwork, adherence to policies, and proactive communication with nurses

Qualifications

• Assists in patient education on adequacy measures and dialysis procedures.
• Follows safety, sanitation, and infection control protocols.
• Maintains clear communication with RN and supervisor regarding patient status.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and assess wellbeing since last treatment.
• Evaluate vascular access for patency and assist in cannulation as directed.
• Initiate dialysis according to orders including QB/QD; monitor and respond to intradialytic issues.
• Take pre/post-treatment vital signs and document results.
• Document treatment data accurately and report changes to the nurse or supervisor.
