Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking a dialysis technician to join the health care team, providing safe and effective dialysis therapy under the supervision of a licensed nurse. You will handle the setup and operation of hemodialysis machines and help maintain a clean, safe environment.

The role emphasizes patient education, monitoring of vital signs and treatment parameters, vascular access evaluation and cannulation, and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; CMS-approved state licensure requirements may apply.
• CPR certification required; prior patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in setup and operation of hemodialysis machines.
• Evaluate vascular access, cannulation, and manage heparin as delegated.
• Obtain pre/post treatment vital signs and weights; document treatment parameters.
• Initiate and monitor dialysis treatment; adjust based on orders and patient response.
• Maintain infection control and clean dialysis area between treatments.
• Report changes to RN or supervisor; assist with patient education as needed.
