Fresenius Medical Care in Waianae, HI seeks a dialysis technician to support safe, effective dialysis therapy under nurse supervision. You will assist with patient education, monitor vital signs and vascular access, and help maintain a clean, safe treatment area.

The role requires LMS-compliant certification, CPR, and color vision; prior patient-care experience is preferred. The position is full-time with an on-site schedule and competitive hourly pay.

Formación

• CMS-approved state and/or national certification or high school diploma or GED.
• All appropriate state licensure, education and training required.
• CPR certification required; pass Ishihara color vision test.

Responsabilidades

• Provide patient-specific education on adequacy measures and dialysis parameters (OLC, AMP, UKM).
• Welcome patients and check wellbeing since last treatment; report concerns to nurse supervisor.
• Evaluate vascular access patency and report findings to nurse supervisor.
• Obtain pre- and post-treatment vital signs and weight; report unusual findings.
• Perform vascular access evaluation pre-treatment and report findings to nurse supervisor.
• Perform vascular access cannulation and report difficulties or unusual findings.
• Administer Heparin as delegated or per state law.
• Initiate dialysis per orders including QB and QD.
• Evaluate intradialytic problems and provide prescribed interventions.
• Monitor patient response to dialysis; report unusual findings.
• Record vital signs and treatment data; document appropriately.
• Discontinue dialysis per established procedures.
• Evaluate patient prior to venous access termination; monitor BP.
• Obtain hemostasis and apply dressings.
• Evaluate patient prior to discharge and report unusual findings.
• Record Pre and Post dialysis evaluation, weight and vital signs with ID.
• Calculate and enter dialysis machine programming for UF, time, Na modeling.
• Ensure safety alarms (NVL 160) are enabled.
• Document treatment data on Hemodialysis Treatment Sheet.
• Complete documentation of patient treatment and progress notes.
• Report significant changes in patient condition to nurse supervisor.
• Observe patient and perform machine safety checks; intervene as needed.
• Evaluate vascular access during treatment: arterial/venous pressures; intervene as needed.
• Obtain prescribed laboratory testing and prepare specimens.
