Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care Dallas is seeking a Dialysis Technician to join the dialysis health care team, under RN supervision. You will assist with setup and operation of hemodialysis machines, monitor patient response, and maintain safety and cleanliness throughout shifts.

The role involves education support, charting, and adherence to CQI activities to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction. Travel between facilities may be required within the region.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• CMS-approved state and/or national certification within required state or CMS timeline.
• CPR certification required for continued employment.

Responsibilities

• Welcome assigned patients and inquire about wellbeing since last treatment.
• Evaluate vascular access for patency and cannulation; administer heparin as delegated.
• Obtain pre and post treatment vital signs and weight.
• Initiate dialysis per orders including QB and QD.
• Monitor patient response to dialysis therapy.
• Document treatment data accurately on the Hemodialysis Treatment Sheet.
• Ensure safety alarms are enabled and equipment safe.
• Assist in training direct care staff under nurse supervision.
• Maintain infection control practices and clean environment.
• Prepare initial patient chart for admission and lab requisitions.
