Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking a dialysis care professional to support safe and effective dialysis therapy under licensed nurse supervision. You will participate in setup and operation of hemodialysis machines, monitor patient conditions, and assist with treatment documentation and safety checks.

The role includes education support for patients, assisting in maintaining a clean, safe environment, and contributing to infection control and CQI activities as required by policy.

Qualifications

• Previous patient care experience in a hospital setting or a related facility preferred.
• Continued employment is dependent on successful completion of the organization dialysis training program and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Welcome assigned patients and inquire as to their wellbeing since their last treatment.
• Evaluate vascular access for patency, cannulate, and administer heparin as delegated or allowed by state law.
• Obtain pre- and post-treatment vital signs and weight and perform vascular access evaluation pre-treatment.
• Initiate dialysis treatment according to prescribed orders including QB and QD.
• Monitor patient response and intervene as directed by physician order.
• Record vital signs and treatment parameters on the Hemodialysis Treatment Sheet.
• Ensure safety alarms are enabled and monitor for unusual findings.
• Assist in training direct patient care staff under supervision of a nurse.
