Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in Pittsburgh is seeking a dedicated dialysis patient care technician to support safe and effective dialysis therapy under RN supervision. You will participate in setup, monitoring, and documentation, ensuring patient comfort and adherence to treatment plans.

This role requires strong teamwork, attention to infection control, and the ability to respond to alarms and clinical changes promptly.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or G.E.D. required.
• CMS-approved state and/or national certification requirements may be required.
• All applicable state licensure, education, and training (if any) required.
• Demonstrated commitment to organization culture, values, and customer service standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist in setup and operation of hemodialysis machines.
• Evaluate vascular access and perform cannulation as delegated.
• Monitor vital signs and weight before, during, and after treatment.
• Initiate dialysis according to orders and monitor patient response.
• Maintain infection control and clean equipment between treatments.
• Document treatment data accurately and communicate changes to RN.
• Provide education to patients regarding adequacy measures and care.
• Support CQI activities and adhere to organizational policies.
