Sylvania seeks a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join a multidisciplinary team serving students with special needs. You will participate in referral, assessment, and ARD/IEP processes to develop and monitor effective student plans.
Responsibilities include conducting observations, gathering family data, and collaborating with teachers, administrators, and related service professionals to implement appropriate supports.
Be an active member of multidisciplinary team which assesses and serves students who have special needs.
Bachelor’s Degree
TEA certified as Special Education Teacher
Knowledge of special education referral, appraisal and ARD/IEP process
3Years teaching experience as required for TEA certification
Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals.
Posture: Frequent sitting and standing; occasional bending/stooping, pushing,/pulling, and twisting
Motion: Repetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching
Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)
Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; work inside and outside (exposure to sun, heat, cold, and inclement weather), exposure to noise; occasional districtwide and statewide travel
