Job summary

The University of Vermont Health Network seeks an Ultrasound Technologist to perform high-quality diagnostic sonography in an academic, patient-centered environment.

You will conduct exams including abdominal, OB/GYN, and vascular, optimize images, and document studies in PACS/EMR, collaborating closely with radiologists and other clinicians to support compassionate care across Vermont and northern New York.

Qualifications

• ARRT certification preferred or eligible
• BLS certification
• State licensure/registration as required
• Clinical ultrasound internship/clinical rotations
• Familiarity with ACR and AIUM guidelines

Responsibilities

• Perform and document a wide range of diagnostic ultrasound exams following established protocols
• Optimize image quality and adjust equipment settings to support accurate interpretation by radiologists
• Ensure patient identification, safety, comfort, and informed explanation of procedures
• Maintain ultrasound equipment, rooms, and supplies according to infection control and safety standards
• Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other clinicians to coordinate timely patient care
• Accurately document exams and findings in PACS and EMR systems
• Support evidence‑based practice, quality improvement, and accreditation standards
• Participate in teaching, mentoring, and learning activities within the academic health system
