Job summary

Akkodis is recruiting for a Diagnostic Technical Author/Dealer Technician for an automotive supplier in the Allen Park, MI area. This onsite contract role offers a pay range of $30-$36 per hour and requires strong diagnostic and technical writing skills to develop service information for end users.

You will collaborate with team leads and clients to deliver accurate documentation, perform electrical and body/powertrain diagnostics, and maintain compliance with timelines and budgets while

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required; Engineering degree preferred.
  • State or ASE certifications preferred.
  • Knowledge of electronic and electrical fundamentals.
  • Knowledge of mechanical procedures and flat rate labor time methods.
  • Knowledge of modern automotive systems and diagnostics.
  • Hybrid powertrains and diesel experience preferred.
  • PC-based software knowledge and ability to type.

Responsibilities

  • Work with team lead/project manager to develop final product.
  • Work directly with the client to develop final product.
  • Develop or update service information based on end user needs and client specs.
  • Research product information and utilize computer systems for delivery.
  • Communicate with client and internal contributors to ensure budgets and timing.
  • Interact with department management and support personnel for input and resources.
  • Handle diverse tasks and projects with minimal guidance.

Akkodis is recruiting for a Diagnostic Technical Author/Dealer Technician for an automotive supplier in the Allen Park, MI area. This is an onsite contract position with a pay range of $30 an hour to $36 an hour depending on education, experience and location.


Works with team lead/project manager to develop final product. Also has the ability to work directly with the client to develop final product. Develops or updates service information based on the end user needs, client specifications/expectations and the current product information. Researches product information. Utilizes various computer systems for delivery of the final product to client. Communicates with client and internal contributors to ensure the programs are within established budget and timing guidelines. Interacts with department management and support personnel for input, direction and resource acquisition. Ability to work on diverse tasks and projects with minimal guidance.


Need electrical diagnostic experience for this role.


Need to have Body and Powertrain diagnostics experience


Dealership Diagnostic repair (Bumper to Bumper) experience is required



  • Spot welding

  • Body measurements

  • At least 2 years of experience

  • Prior Authoring experience

  • Will also consider recent college graduates with some hands-on experience on vehicles

  • Must have automotive experience

  • Recall or TSB background is a plus

  • Primary focus on technical skills/diagnostic skills

  • XML Editor experience is a secondary requirement – can be trained if needed

  • Any experience working with XML software would be preferred

  • Good grammar, punctuation, and general communication skills

  • Must have foundational computer skills

  • MS Office


JOB SPECIFICATIONS
