Job summary

UAB Medicine in Alabama is seeking a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to perform ultrasound procedures under physician supervision and gather sonographic data for diagnostic decisions.

The role requires RDMS certification with ARDMS, OB/GYN registry within 6 months, and related certifications; shifts are flexi/PRN, with Monday–Friday 8am–5pm availability and comprehensive benefits for eligible positions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Currently registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS).
• OB/GYN registry required within six (6) months of employment.
• Cervical Length certification required within six (6) months of employment.
• Obtains fetal echocardiography certification within 18 months of hire.
• CPR/BLS certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of the physician, provides patient services using diagnostic ultrasound for the use and interpretation of ultrasound procedures. Assists the physicians in gathering sonographic data necessary to make diagnostic decisions.
