Garnet Health Medical Center Middletown seeks a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join the Diagnostic Imaging team. You will perform a full scope of ultrasound exams including OB/GYN, abdominal and vascular studies, supporting physicians in diagnosis and patient care.

Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound program with ARDMS certification (or eligibility within 18 months) and at least one year of clinical experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Performs a full scope of General Ultrasound technological procedures including OB/GYN, Abdominal, Certain Vascular procedures (ie: Carotid and Venous doppler) and small parts utilizing Ultrasound scanning equipment on patients to assist the physician in the diagnosis of disease. The compensation range for the role is $44.37 - $51.41 hourly (non-registered) and $46.22- $53.31 (registered).

Qualifications

Minimum Education

• Graduate of an accredited school of Ultrasound Technology.

Minimum Experience

• One year clinical experience recommended.

Required Certification/ Registration

• ARDMS Registered in OB/GYN or Breast or Abdomen, or Registry eligible. Must be registered within 18 months of hire date

Physical Requirements

• Frequently and intense visual activity at least 50 percent of the day. Color recognition (shades and intensities). Frequent lifting and repositioning of patients required. Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds unassisted.

Working Conditions

• Environmental Demands and Exposure to Hazards: Works in a clean, well-lighted, heated or ventilated facility. No routine exposure to hazards.
• Physical Demands: Demonstrates physical and functional ability to perform full anatomical range of motion to accomplish tasks. Evidence of visual and aural acuity and finger and hand dexterity to operate computer and office equipment. Can withstand long periods of sitting, standing and/or constant walking. Ability to lift 10 lbs.
• Mental Demands: Ability to foster collaborative relationships, to work well under pressure, to organize and synthesize new information, and prioritize tasks. Possesses critical thinking, analytical skills and flexibility. Ability to multi-task. Required detailed attention to work in an environment where interruptions cannot be controlled. Demonstrates sensitivity to customer needs and expectations. May be subject to irregular hours including evenings or potentially weekends to participate in operational and community events as necessary.
• Works inside controlled lab facilities. Often performing ultrasound exams in partially darkened exam room.
