Job summary

OSF HealthCare is seeking a Diagnostic Radiology Technologist I to perform radiographic procedures with minimal supervision. You will collect medical histories, guide patients through imaging, operate equipment, and collaborate with Providers on results to determine if additional images are needed.

Required credentials include a formal Radiography program, ARRT (R) registration or eligibility, IEMA licensure, and BLS.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a formal Radiography program with associated certificate or degree.
  • Licensure/certification: ARRT (R) Radiology Registration required at hire or within 2 years; Radiography License through IEMA; American Heart Association (BLS).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform radiographic procedures at a technical level with minimal supervision.
  • Collect medical history and answer patient questions regarding imaging.
  • Operate imaging equipment proficiently and guide patients through the imaging process.
  • Collaborate with Providers on results and determine if additional images are needed.

Expected pay for this position is $27.26 - $35.68/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.

This is an Hourly position.

Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Diagnostic Radiology Technologist I performs radiographic procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Is responsible for performing technical procedures that may require independent judgment with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis. They perform patient intake by collecting medical history and must be able to answer patient questions regarding the imaging procedure. They follow specific instructions from providers on what areas to image and guide patients through the imaging process safely and comfortably. They operate imaging equipment proficiently, have a firm understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the human body, demonstrate knowledge of proper imaging techniques in all patient populations and may confer with Providers on the results of imaging tests and collaborates to determine whether additional images are required.

Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • - Completion of a formal Radiography program with associated certificate or degree

Licensure/ Certification:

  • - ARRT (R) Radiology Registration is required at hire or within 2 years of hire after sitting for registration within 6 months of hire.
  • -Radiography License through IEMA.
  • - American Heart Association (BLS).

Other Skills/ Knowledge:

  • - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience: Previous experience with routine diagnostic procedures in general radiology.
  • Experience: Previous experience in customer service/patient experience setting.
