Job summary

Geisinger is seeking an X-ray Tech I to perform standardized radiographic and fluoroscopic exams in a clinical setting. The role emphasizes proper patient positioning, exposure techniques and equipment operation, with opportunities for growth into higher levels based on skills and experience.

The ideal candidate will be a graduate of a Radiologic Technology program with ARRT certification and BLS. Union environment and on-site work at Geisinger facilities are part of the position.

Qualifications

• Graduate from Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology.
• ARRT certified with current licensure and BLS on file.
• Experience performing standardized radiographic and fluoroscopic exams.

Responsibilities

• Perform standardized radiographic and fluoroscopic exams with correct positioning and exposure.
• Operate radiology equipment and ensure image quality.
• Set up immobilization and radiation protection devices as needed.
• Assist physicians during procedures and document related records.

Job Summary

$10,000 Sign on bonus for eligible applicants! This posting reflects an opening for an X-ray Tech I and we are seeking candidates for that position. Geisinger reserves the right to consider applicants for higher levels of this role to include X-ray Tech II based on their skills, qualifications, and experience. Responsible for performing a variety of standardized radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations, equipment operation, and for maintaining related records. Union: Yes

Job Duties

• Performs standardized radiological radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations utilizing proper patient position, identification and exposure techniques.
• Knowledgeable in operation of all equipment within modality.
• Sets up and adjusts immobilization and radiation protective equipment and devices.
• Reviews and analyzes patient body size, thickness, age, physical condition, and suspected pathology in performing examinations.
• Assists physician with various procedures.
• Reports equipment malfunctions and the need for adjustments or repairs.
• Maintains related records and notations.
• Assists in Quality Assurance/Quality Control procedures as required.
• Participates in the educational training of students.
