Job summary

Indiana University Health in Bloomington is seeking a Radiologic Technologist for a weekend 7a-7p position. This role involves operating x-ray, fluoroscopy, portable x-ray, and fluoroscopy equipment in the OR, explaining exams, and positioning patients.

You will collaborate with radiologists and referring physicians to ensure accurate imaging while following radiation safety protocols and documenting detailed patient information in the EMR.

Qualifications

• 0-3 years of relevant experience.
• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the patient cannot be positioned normally.
• Active status as a Registered Technologist - Radiography (ARRT RT(R)) or board-eligible; credential within 6 months of hire.
• Current ISDH license as Radiologic Technologist or ISDH Radiology Student Permit.

Responsibilities

• Operate imaging equipment (x-ray, fluoro, portable x-ray, fluoroscopy) used in surgery.
• Explain exams to patients and position them correctly.
• Collaborate with radiologists and referring physicians for accurate imaging.
• Follow radiation safety protocols and document patient history in EMR.

• Assist with minimally invasive procedures as needed.

Overview

This is a weekend option position, Saturday and Sunday only 7a-7p. Surgery experience preferred. Sign-on bonus available for eligible applicants!

Operates imaging equipment such as x-ray, fluoro, portable x-ray, and fluoroscopy equipment used in surgery. Prepares patients by explaining exam and positioning them correctly. Collaborates with radiologists and referring physicians to ensure accurate imaging. Follows radiation safety protocols. Documents detailed patient history. Stays current with continuing education. Monitors patients during exam for safety. Documents necessary information in EMR. Assists with minimally invasive procedures as needed.

• Requires 0-3 years of relevant experience.
• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
• Requires ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
• Requires active status as a Registered Technologist - Radiography, RT(R), through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or a recent graduate of an approved training program in Radiologic Technology (board eligible). If board eligible, must obtain credential in Radiography within 6 months of hire.
• Requires current Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) license as Radiologic Technologist or a current ISDH Radiology Student Permit.
