Responsibilities

• Operates radiologic equipment to produce radiographs (x-rays) for diagnostic purposes.
• Performs routine, portable, operating room or fluoroscope exams.
• Places patient and adjusts equipment to obtain high-quality images and explains procedures to the patient.
• Maintains radiation safety to minimize exposure and participates in QA/QI activities.
• May provide guidance to junior radiologic technologists and students.

Performs routine, portable, operating room or flouoroscope exams. Performs complex radiographic procedures and provides guidance to lower level Radiologic Technologists and students. Positions patient, adjusts equipment to produce high quality x-rays, and explains various procedures to the patient. Takes precautions to minimize staff and patient exposure to radiation. Assists in training radiology staff and students.
