Job summary

The Fredericksburg VA Health Care Center is seeking a skilled Physician - Diagnostic Radiologist to provide high-quality imaging services for Veterans in the Northern and Central Virginia area.

The position requires completing an ACGME-accredited Radiology residency (or equivalent) and holding a full, unrestricted US medical license with English proficiency. Expect a structured, physician-led team, with opportunities for research and ongoing education.

Qualifications

• US citizenship required; non-citizens considered only per VA policy.
• MD/DO degree from a VA-approved school.
• Current, full and unrestricted medical license in the United States.
• Residency in an ACGME/AOA-accredited radiology program with board eligibility.
• Board certification may be required for faculty status.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Provide diagnostic radiology care to patients as a Radiologist.
• Perform and interpret diagnostic imaging, interventional or nuclear medicine studies as applicable.
• Follow ACR guidelines and use appropriate criteria for imaging decisions.
• Supervise residents, AMSAs, technologists and nurses during procedures.
• Participate in quality assurance to improve safety and care.
• Maintain radiation safety practices and participate in clinical research.
