Job summary

Confluence Health in Wenatchee, WA is seeking a qualified ultrasound technologist to perform abdomen, renal, OB/GYN, small parts, and vascular studies. You will work with PACS, RIS, and EMR, ensuring patient safety and high-quality imaging.

Qualifications

• Completion of an education program approved by the ARDMS with clinical ultrasound experience.
• ARDMS registered or registry eligible at hire date; if not registered, must be registered in OB/GYN or ABD within 6 months.
• Obtain RVT with ARDMS within one year of employment (Central Campus).
• Required to take standby and be on call, as needed.
• If on call, available within 20 minutes of notification (Central).
• Previous ultrasound experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound examinations including abdomen, renal, OB/GYN, small parts, and vascular studies according to protocols.
• Assist interventional procedures under radiologist or APP direction using sterile technique.
• Maintain ultrasound unit cleanliness and infection control.
• Label specimens and ensure correct patient information in forms.
• Position patients correctly and use ergonomically safe scanning techniques.
• Stay on call as required and respond within 20 minutes if on call.
• Use PACS, RIS, and EMR for documentation of examinations.
• Maintain licensures and CPR certification and complete continuing education requirements.
• Maintain active CPR certification.

Summary

Perform all routine and special ultrasound procedures. Provide patients with safe, courteous and efficient care. Assist in other sections of the department as needed.

Position Reports To: Radiology Manager

Essential Functions

1. Understands, performs, and accurately completes various ultrasound examinations including abdomen, renal, OB/GYN, small parts, and vascular studies in accordance with professional and facility protocols in a safe manner as instructed.
2. Assist with interventional procedures using sterile technique including, but not limited to, biopsies, aspirations, localizations, paracentesis, and thoracentesis under the direction of a radiologist or APP.
3. Maintains the cleanliness of the ultrasound unit and associated minor equipment in accordance with infection control policies and procedures.
4. Places lab specimens in proper location with proper labeling and forms filled in with correct patient information.
5. Use proper patient positioning tools, devices, equipment adjustment, and ergonomically correct scanning techniques to ensure patient comfort and safety, and to prevent compromised data acquisition.
6. Required to take standby and be on call, as needed.
7. If on call, will be available within 20 minutes of notification of need (Central).
8. Utilizes PACS, RIS, and current EMR efficiently and completes required documentation for each examination performed.
9. Maintains licensures/certifications in current and good standing and complies with all continuing education requirements as dictated by regulatory entities.
10. Required to maintain active Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
11. Other duties as assigned.
