Oregon Health & Science University invites a board-certified or board-eligible diagnostic medical physicist to join a team of five physicists and two medical physics residents. The role involves testing imaging equipment, ensuring radiation safety, and supporting education for graduate students and residents in radiation physics.

Qualifications

• M.S. in medical physics or related field.
• Broad knowledge of imaging modalities: x-ray, CT, MR, US, NM, PET.
• Experience with photon-counting CT and nuclear medicine therapies.
• Board-eligible in diagnostic medical physics by ABR; eligible for state licensure in Oregon.

Responsibilities

• Perform ongoing testing for performance and safety of radiological imaging equipment.
• Provide imaging physics safety support to contracted partners; comply with Oregon regulations.
• Optimize the use of new imaging technology, including Photon-Counting CT.
• Teach and mentor medical physics residents in the Diagnostic Imaging Physics Residency Program.
• Teach and mentor graduate students in the Oregon Medical Physics Program and CAMPEP coursework.
