South Shore Health is seeking a Paramedic to respond to ALS requests and provide EMS care in the pre-hospital setting. You will follow established protocols, document thoroughly, and maintain readiness of vehicles and equipment.
You’ll lead on-scene operations, coordinate with EMTs, and communicate clearly via radio, while representing SSHS in community EMS efforts. This role requires current EMT-P, ACLS and BLS certifications, a valid MA driver’s license, and prior pre-hospital care experience.
Responsible for responding to requests for ALS intervention and for providing emergency medical care in the pre-hospital environment according to Paramedic Protocols and Policies approved by SSHS and the ALS system Medical Director. Performs other duties related to the provision of care and development of the community EMS system.
Minimum Education - Preferred High School diploma or equivalent Minimum Work Experience Prior experience as a provider of pre-hospital care in an emergency setting Critical care experience preferred/ALS transfers Required Licenses VDL - Valid Drivers License Verification of an acceptable motor vehicle driving record, at time of hire, with annual verification required thereafter. Required Certifications EMT- P - Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic ACLS - EMS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) BLS - EMS (Basic Life Support) Preferred (not required) Certifications PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program
