Job summary

Providence St Vincent Medical Center in Portland, OR is seeking a Diagnostic Imaging Support Specialist (Per Diem/Day shift). You will assist patients and manage imaging data, retrieving and inputting digital images into the EMS system.

The role requires clerical and customer service skills, basic medical terminology, and effective communication with departments, staff, physicians and patients in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Qualifications

  • Basic medical terminology course or completed within 6 months of hire.
  • 1 year clerical or customer service experience.
  • Associate's Degree in the medical field or 1 year medical/clerical experience, or Providence Internship.
  • Coursework in intermediate medical terminology or anatomy is a plus.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMS) systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist and direct patients in the imaging department.
  • Retrieve, organize, and input digital images into EMS.
  • Coordinate with multiple departments, staff, physicians and patients.
  • Maintain software and EMS workflow accuracy.

Diagnostic Imaging Assistant at Providence St Vincent Medical Center in Portland, OR.


Per Diem/Day shift


The Specialist-Diagnostic Imaging Support assists and directs patients while retrieving, organizing and inputting digital images and/or exam information into our Electronic Medical Records System (EMS). The Diagnostic Imaging Support Specialist is responsible for all applicable software, and interacts with many departments, office staff, physicians and patients. The position requires extensive clerical, telephonic, and customer service skills.

Required Qualifications:


  • Coursework/Training: Basic medical terminology course, or completed within 6 months of hire.

  • 1 year Clerical or Customer Service experience.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Associate's Degree in the medical field or 1 year medical and/or clerical experience, or

  • A successful completion of a Providence Internship.

  • Coursework/Training: College courses in intermediate medical terminology and physical anatomy or knowledge obtained through work experience.

  • Diagnostic Imaging experience.

  • Electronic Medical Records System experience.

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors.
