Job summary

Allina Health in Saint Paul, MN is seeking a Diagnostic Imaging Assistant to support technologists and ensure delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care. The role includes day/evening shifts and a 0.3 FTE schedule.

Responsibilities include patient transport, exam scheduling, information flow between patients and clinics, and clerical support as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies as listed on the job description
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Previous patient care or Medical Terminology preferred
• Must meet at least ONE of the requirements below: Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association OR American Red Cross OR Allina in-house BLS training (within 30 days of hire)

• Provides safe, quality patient care, while assisting technologists with transport and care of patients
• Maintains electronic files, distributes patient reports and coordinates information flow between patients and clinics
• Coordinates workflow between clinics, service departments and physicians
• Assists Technologist in delivering patient care: screens patients, delivers imaging supplies, transports and positions patients
• Distributes completed exam to radiologist for interpretation and restocks exam rooms

• Every other weekend rotation

Job Description:

Provides safe, quality patient care, while assisting technologist with transport and care of patients. Maintains electronic files, distributes patient reports and coordinates information flow between patients and clinics. Other patient care and clerical functions as assigned.

Principle Responsibilities

• Serves as link between physicians, clinics and service departments
  • Enters orders and schedules exams as needed.
  • Communicates physician requests to appropriate department staff.
  • Coordinates workflow with Clinics, service departments and physicians.
  • Prioritizes customer needs.
  • Provides information regarding special instructions, exam preps, arrival times or special needs.
  • Keeps leadership advised of any issues or concerns.
• Assists Technologist in delivering patient care
  • Screens patients for exam.
  • Delivers necessary imaging supplies.
  • Transports, transfers and positioning of patient.
  • Distributes completed exam to radiologist for interpretation.
  • Restocks and prepares exam room for procedures.
• Provides image and data management
  • Ensures secure and appropriate access of patient information .
  • Documents image data release in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the electronic storage and retrieval system (EMI).
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Licenses/Certifications

• Must meet at least ONE of the requirements below
  Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association

Physical Demands

• Medium Work*:
• Lifting weight up to 32 lbs. occasionally (*Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy), up to 25 lbs. frequently

Pay Range

Pay Range: $17.45 to $23.77 per hourThe pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
