Ed's Car Care Center in Fort Wayne is seeking an experienced Master / Diagnostic Automotive Technician. You will diagnose and repair complex electrical and engine issues, perform advanced drivetrain and HVAC work, and complete DVIs with precise recommendations.

You’ll mentor peers in a shop that values integrity and craftsmanship, with strong support from a growing GreatWater network.

Qualifications

5+ years as an A-Level Diagnostic Technician.
State and local certifications plus valid driver's license and clean MVR.
Willingness to earn all 8 ASE certifications toward Master ASE.
Ability to diagnose advanced electrical, engine, and drivetrain issues.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair advanced electrical and engine performance issues.
Diagnose fuel, ignition, and drivability systems.
Diagnose and repair 4WD/AWD drivetrain systems.
Perform advanced steering, suspension, and brake repairs.
Perform advanced HVAC diagnostics and repair.
Complete Digital Vehicle Inspections (DVI) and provide recommendations.
Mentor and support less experienced technicians.

What You’ll Do

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

5+ years Experienced A-Level Diagnostic Technician
Required state and local certifications to be able to legally perform the work, including a current valid driver's license and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
ALL 8 ASE certifications Preferred:
1. A1 – Engine Repair
2. A2 – Automatic Transmission / Transaxles
3. A3 – Manual Drive Train and Axles
4. A4 – Suspension and Steering
5. A5 – Brakes
6. A6 – Electrical Systems
7. A7 – Heating and AC
8. A8 – Engine Performance
Has or is willing to earn ASE certifications and work towards being a Master ASE Technician

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Physical Demands:
- Must be able to get into and out of various vehicles without assistance.
- Must be able to drive a motor vehicle with passengers.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs without assistance.
- Ability to view a monitor, and use touch screens, mice, and keyboards.
- Ability to climb up/down and over/under work platforms and lifts to access vehicles for repair
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to perform major and fine motor skill movements using body to perform the necessary actions to complete a repair, service, vehicle inspection, or shop cleaning activity.
- Ability to reach overhead, push, pull, bend over/down, stoop, and other major body movements frequently
- This job operates in an environment with extensive exposure to an automotive repair shop environment. The job will have exposure to a moderate noise level, adverse weather conditions, chemicals, odors, dirt, and dust. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers & scanners.
- Ability to work flexible hours/days including evenings and if shops are open, weekends; additional time may be required depending on business needs.
