Job summary

Cone Health Radiology is seeking a Diag Rad and CT Technologist WEO in High Point to perform CT exams under approved workflows and protocols, producing diagnostic cross sectional images for radiologists.

You will educate patients, document in CHL and PACS, and uphold ALARA principles while contributing to a positive patient experience. Weekend option provides premium rate.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of Radiology/Imaging program required.
• ARRT and/or NMTCB licensure/certification preferred or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Operates CT scanners to create cross-sectional images (CAT scans).
• Adheres to protocols to minimize imaging, limits radiation dose, and maintains productivity.
• Completes exams and CHL/PACS documentation, ensuring correct charges and workflow.
• Educates patients to improve cooperation and experience during testing.
• Adheres to ALARA principles and Just Culture to improve patient outcomes.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

Job description

The Diag Rad and CT Technologist WEO is responsible for providing high-quality patient care during Computed Tomography (CT) procedures using approved workflows and procedural protocols. Working under direct supervision, this position uses specialized computerized x-ray equipment to produce cross sectional images of the human anatomy which aid radiologists in diagnosing a wide variety of diseases and disorders. This role has a weekend option, in which the staff member is required to commit to WEO requirements and work two shifts within the WEO window for a premium rate.

Essential Job Function

• Operates head or body x-ray scanners which create a computer-generated cross-sectional image, commonly called a CAT (Computed Axial Tomography) Scan.
• Performs routine and special CT exams adhering to established protocols to minimize additional imaging and limit radiation dose, maintaining exam productivity within established benchmarks.
• Completes all exams and documentation in Computerized Health Information (CHL) and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), accurately identifying all charges associated with studies and addressing errors for a seamless workflow.
• Educates and prepares patients for their examinations to enhance patient understanding and cooperation during testing and promote a positive patient experience.
• Demonstrates commitment to safe practices, Just Culture, and As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) principles to eliminate errors and enhance patient outcomes.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

• Required: High School Diploma or equivalent. Graduate of a Radiology, Imaging or related educational program.

Licensure/Certification/Listing

• Required: Will accept any of the following licenses: ARRT: RT(R)(CT), RT(N)(CT)NMTCB: CNMT, CT) Combination of ARRT RT(N) and NMTCB(CT) or CNMT and ARRT(CT) Combination of ARRT RT(R) and NMTCB(CT) or ARRT RT(T) and NMTCB(CT) BLS (CPR)- American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
