Job summary

The University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, VT seeks a Radiology Technician with osteoporosis expertise to perform DEXA bone density scans and related imaging. You will operate imaging equipment, maintain patient safety, and collaborate with physicians to support diagnosis and treatment of bone health conditions.

Qualified candidates will be ARRT certified, hold state licensure, and demonstrate strong patient care and record-keeping skills.

Qualifications

  • Must be certified and registered as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT).
  • State license as required.
  • Experience with DEXA scanning is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain radiology imaging equipment, primarily DEXA machines.
  • Conduct bone density tests and other radiographic examinations as requested by medical staff.
  • Interpret data and assist physicians in diagnosing bone health issues.
  • Ensure the safety and comfort of all patients during procedures.
  • Coordinate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and adhere to confidentiality guidelines.
  • Participate in continuing education and training to stay current with radiology practices and technologies.
  • Proficiency in DEXA technology and other radiographic imaging equipment.
  • Strong understanding of radiology safety and protocols.
  • Excellent patient handling skills and empathetic communication.
  • Ability to interpret radiologic data and collaborate with medical teams.
  • Detail-oriented with strong record-keeping and organizational skills.
