Computational Physics, Inc. (CPI) is seeking a Full-Time Software Engineer / DevSecOps Engineer to support USNO, Washington, DC.

The role spans building secure CI/CD pipelines, managing GitOps workflows, and delivering production-grade Go and TypeScript code in a hybrid, Linux-based environment. The ideal candidate has hands-on software development experience, strong OOP fundamentals, and practical DevSecOps experience with security tooling in pipelines, plus containerization (Podman/Docker) and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, CS, or related field.
• 10 years of experience.
• Proficiency in Go or a C-family backend language.
• Proficiency in TypeScript for frontend or full-stack development.
• Strong foundation in software engineering fundamentals with OOP.
• Solid understanding of cloud computing concepts and containerization.
• Hands-on experience with GitOps workflows and modern CI/CD with GitLab CI and Flux.
• Experience with Gitflow and structured release management workflows.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps practices including security scanning and policy enforcement.
• Understanding of OWASP Top 10, CVEs and secure coding practices.

Responsibilities

• Build and secure CI/CD pipelines and production-grade Go/TypeScript code.
• Manage GitOps workflows and Flux-based deployments.
• Work in Linux environments, including RPM-based distros.
• Collaborate across security, development and DevOps teams.
• Implement secure coding practices and vulnerability scanning.
