Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a seasoned DevSecOps Engineer to design, build, and troubleshoot enterprise CI/CD pipelines. You’ll integrate automated security controls, manage containerized workloads with Kubernetes, and collaborate with software engineers, security teams, and infrastructure staff to deliver secure, repeatable software delivery.

The role requires 5+ years in software or cybersecurity, experience with GitLab/Jenkins, scripting, and infrastructure‑as‑code (Terraform, Ansible).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent full-time experience in a technical field.
• 5+ years of full-time software or cybersecurity experience.
• Experience with CI/CD concepts and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab).
• Familiarity with container orchestration with Kubernetes.
• Scripting (Python, Bash) or IaC (Terraform, Ansible) for automation of security tasks.
• Familiarity with Git.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines using GitLab/Jenkins.
• Integrate automated security controls within pipelines (SAST, SCA, container scanning, SBOM, secrets detection).
• Support and maintain core Software Factory tooling (GitLab, artifact repositories, scanning tools, CI/CD infra).
• Deploy, configure, and maintain containerized workloads using Kubernetes (RKE2 or similar).
• Operate DevSecOps platforms in air-gapped environments, including packaging dependencies and troubleshooting issues.
• Enforce compliance via automation (NIST 800-171, DISA STIGs, RMF).
• Investigate and resolve issues across CI/CD, infra, and tooling; document root causes and solutions.
• Gather feedback to improve usability, performance, and reliability of the platform.
• Collaborate with software engineers, security and infra teams for coordinated delivery.

Job description

• Build, maintain, and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab and Jenkins, following established enterprise patterns
• Integrate and operate automated security controls within pipelines, including SAST, SCA, container scanning, SBOM generation, and secrets detection
• Support and maintain core Software Factory tooling (e.g., GitLab, artifact repositories, scanning tools, CI/CD infrastructure)
• Deploy, configure, and maintain containerized workloads using Kubernetes (RKE2 or similar distributions)
• Operate and support DevSecOps platforms within air-gapped classified environments, including:
• packaging and deploying dependencies
• troubleshooting environment-specific issues
• supporting repeatable software delivery without external connectivity
• Assist in enforcing compliance requirements (e.g., NIST 800-171, DISA STIGs, RMF) through automation and pipeline controls
• Investigate and resolve technical issues across CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure, and tooling, documenting root causes and solutions
• Gather developer feedback and identify opportunities to improve platform usability, performance, and reliability
• Collaborate with software engineers, security teams, and infrastructure teams to support coordinated delivery efforts

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information security, engineering, or a related technical field or equivalent full-time professional experience
• 5+ years of full-time professional software and/or cybersecurity experience
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
• Experience in software development processes
• Experience with CI/CD concepts and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab)
• Familiarity with container orchestration with Kubernetes
• Hands-on familiarity with scripting (Python, Bash) or infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible) for automation of security tasks.
• Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team
• Excellent communication skills and a desire to learn and grow.
