Job summary

CACI International Inc. in Sterling, VA is seeking a mid-level DevOps/Systems Engineer to modernize secure Linux platforms, deploy OpenShift, and automate at scale.

Qualifications

  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 5 years of systems engineering/DevOps/infrastructure experience
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE or higher)
  • Strong experience engineering and operating enterprise Linux platforms (RHEL)
  • Experience with Puppet and Ansible for automation
  • Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment workflows
  • Familiarity with containerized platforms (Kubernetes/OpenShift) and image management processes

Responsibilities

  • Modernize legacy Linux systems into Red Hat OpenShift and containerized environments
  • Support systems integration, platform engineering, and infrastructure modernization
  • Develop and maintain automation workflows with Puppet and Ansible
  • Assist CI/CD integration and automated deployment workflows
  • Deploy, integrate, and sustain Kubernetes/OpenShift clusters in secure environments
  • Support application containerization, image management, and software deployment
  • Diagnose and resolve issues across Linux and containerized environments
  • Maintain system configuration baselines, security hardening, and optimization
  • Participate in lifecycle engineering activities (upgrades, patches, maintenance)
  • Document engineering diagrams, procedures, and system architectures

This role contributes to systems engineering efforts focused on platform modernization, automation, containerization, and infrastructure integration within mission-critical environments.
