Job summary

Bluelight, a leading software consultancy, seeks an experienced DevOps/SRE/DevSecOps engineer to join our remote-capable team in the US. The role emphasizes security, reliability, and scalable architecture across AWS services, Terraform, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.

You will contribute to production-grade systems, support audit evidence, and collaborate with cross-functional experts to deliver high-quality client solutions in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years professional experience in DevOps, SRE, or DevSecOps roles.
• Hands-on with AWS services (ECS/Fargate, RDS/Aurora, ALB, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, KMS, S3).
• Experience operating Aurora/PostgreSQL in production with multi-AZ failover and replicas.
• Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Containerization with Docker and ECS/Fargate.
• CI/CD pipeline development and maintenance.
• Deployment automation with rollback drills and tested rollback paths.
• Observability tooling experience (OpenTelemetry, CloudWatch).
• Load testing and latency/SL0 management (k6 or similar).
• Security-first mindset with vulnerability scanning and SOC 2 readiness.
• Incident response, on-call rotations, and RCA experience.
• Experience with large, complex systems and US business hours overlap.
• Bachelor's degree required.

Requirements

• 5+ years professional experience in DevOps, SRE, or DevSecOps roles

• Strong hands-on experience with AWS services (ECS/Fargate, RDS/Aurora, ALB, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, KMS, S3)

• Experience operating Aurora/PostgreSQL in production, including multi-AZ failover, read replicas, and replica lag monitoring

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation)

• Experience with containerization and orchestration using Docker and ECS/Fargate

• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines

• Experience with deployment automation and tested rollback paths, including rollback drills

• Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tooling (OpenTelemetry, CloudWatch, or similar)

• Experience with load testing (k6 or similar) and operating services against latency SLOs and error budgets

• Security-first mindset: experience with vulnerability scanning, secrets management, and compliance/hardening practices

• Experience supporting SOC 2 (or similar) audit evidence and client security reviews

• Experience with incident response, on-call rotations, and root-cause analysis

• Substantial background working with large, complex systems

• Ability to overlap US business hours

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with S3 Object Lock and long-term archival for audit/compliance retention

• Experience supporting database migration tooling and expand/contract schema changes

• Experience in compliance-sensitive or audit-heavy domains (e.g., fintech, telecom/TCPA compliance)
