Job description

Location: Dearborn, MI

Duration: 12 months (365 days), target start 01-NOV-2026

Role Overview

This is a hybrid role that blends DevOps engineering with core network infrastructure work. The person will build and run the automation behind software build, test, deployment, and release processes. They will also own DNS, DHCP, and IP address management (IPAM) systems across cloud and on-premises environments. Day to day, that means troubleshooting IP conflicts, DHCP lease failures, and DNS issues, supporting migrations and large deployments, and wiring network workflows into ITSM and cloud platforms with REST APIs, Ansible, and Terraform. The team applies AI to DNS incident and change automation. The environment runs 24/7, so on-call and rotating weekend coverage are part of the job. Hard-to-find combination: enterprise DDI expertise paired with real automation and software development skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deploy, configure, and maintain DNS, DHCP, and IPAM (DDI) systems across cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Monitor network performance and resolve IP conflicts, DHCP lease failures, and DNS problems.
  • Automate network operations and integrate IPAM with ITSM and cloud platforms using REST APIs, Ansible, or Terraform.
  • Handle complex troubleshooting, migrations, and large-scale deployments.
  • Apply AI to DNS incident and change automation.
  • Support code and software releases across production, testing, and sandbox environments using CI/CD and continuous feedback practices.
  • Assess current systems and processes, and find and drive automation and improvement opportunities.
  • Provide on-call and incident response support for critical infrastructure outside standard hours.
Required Qualifications
Experience:
  • 6+ years in the networking domain, with strong expertise in DNS, DHCP, and IPAM (DDI)
Technical Skills:
  • DNS and DHCP (hard to find at enterprise depth, combined with automation)
  • REST APIs
  • Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, and core networking fundamentals
  • Scripting and automation for network operations
  • Experience troubleshooting complex issues, running migrations, and supporting large-scale deployments
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience developing and managing APIs
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related field
  • CCNA and/or CCNP
  • CompTIA Security+ (or equivalent)
  • ITIL (or equivalent)
  • Ansible and Terraform (named in the responsibilities)
  • Infoblox or BlueCat DDI platform experience (adjacent)
  • Cloud-native DNS such as AWS Route 53 or Azure DNS (adjacent)
  • ServiceNow integration experience (adjacent)
  • Git and CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins or GitLab CI (adjacent)
