This role is part of a 10‑year program supporting the DOMEX Data Discovery Platform (D3P) Modernization effort, where you’ll contribute to mission‑critical capabilities alongside a collaborative, innovative, and growth‑oriented team.

While the majority of work is performed on‑site at our customer location in Bethesda, MD, we offer a flexible schedule and occasional opportunities for remote work.

As a DevOps Software Engineer, you’ll design, maintain, secure, and improve automated software build, test, artifact, and deployment pipelines to enable product teams to deliver software reliably through standardized, repeatable, and observable DevSecOps workflows.

You will work with a multidisciplinary group of developers, integrators, and system administrators to:

  • Design, develop, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines for application build, test, security scanning, packaging, promotion, deployment, and release activities.

  • Implement standardized pipeline templates, reusable automation, and self‑service delivery capabilities for product development teams.

  • Integrate automated unit testing, code‑quality analysis, dependency scanning, container‑image scanning, infrastructure/configuration validation, and other DevSecOps controls into CI/CD workflows.

  • Use Helm to configure Kubernetes deployments for new features and evolving requirements.

  • Manage and support source‑control integration, branching strategies, build triggers, artifact repositories, container registries, versioning, and release‑promotion processes.

  • Support GitOps, infrastructure‑as‑code, configuration‑as‑code, and automated environment provisioning practices.

  • Troubleshoot failed builds, pipeline errors, deployment failures, artifact issues, configuration drift, and CI/CD tool integration problems.

  • Monitor CI/CD pipeline health, performance, reliability, throughput, and failure trends; identify and implement improvements.

  • Provide support to the Platform Team for platform‑related activities, such as deployment troubleshooting, Kubernetes configuration support, Elastic integration, observability, and automation.

  • Participate in Agile release planning, scrums, design sessions, bug triage, and related team activities.

To be successful in this role you need the following (required qualifications):

You’re enthusiastic, collaborative, and comfortable working with teammates across a range of technical backgrounds. You also meet the following qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance and ability to obtain/maintain a TS/SCI with CI Polygraph.

  • Demonstrated hands‑on experience designing, developing, or maintaining CI/CD pipelines for production software systems using platforms, such as GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, or equivalent.

  • Experience with source control and collaborative development workflows using Git, including branching, merge requests/pull requests, tagging, release branches, and code review processes.

  • Experience building and managing containerized applications using Docker or comparable container technologies.

  • Working knowledge of Kubernetes deployment concepts, including manifests, secrets, namespaces, and Helm, or comparable tooling.

  • Experience with artifact repositories and container registries, such as Nexus, Artifactory, Harbor, GitLab Registry, or equivalent.

  • Experience integrating automated testing, static code analysis, dependency scanning, software composition analysis, container‑image scanning, or security gates into delivery pipelines.

  • Experience developing automation using scripting or programming languages such as Bash, Python, PowerShell, Go, or equivalent.

  • Familiarity with infrastructure‑as‑code, configuration management, or deployment templating tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Helm, Kustomize, or equivalent.

  • Ability to troubleshoot across application build, testing, packaging, containerization, deployment, networking, configuration, and environment layers.

You will wow us even more if you have some of these skills:
