A leading technology and solutions firm is looking for an intern DevOps Engineer to work in Morgantown, WV, or Reston, VA for Summer 2026. This full-time, onsite role for 3 months offers the chance to support the continuous integration and delivery of software products and gain experience in cloud infrastructure management. Candidates should be pursuing a Bachelor’s in Computer Science with strong problem-solving and communication skills. This position also requires U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain security clearance.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with Agile and DevSecOps concepts and best practices.

Leidos is seeking an intern DevOps Engineer in Morgantown, WV or Reston, VA for Summer 2026. This position is full‑time, onsite for 3 months.

In this role, you will join dynamic Agile software teams that are singularly focused on providing world‑class solutions to our customers in an exciting, collaborative, and inclusive atmosphere. Key Responsibilities

The DevOps Engineer Intern will help support and enable the continuous integration and continuous delivery of our diverse suite of software products by applying best practices for infrastructure provisioning, configuration and automated software deployments. You will leverage open‑source and fit‑for‑purpose tools to manage private and public cloud infrastructures via code, designing reusable infrastructure components for scalable, highly available, secure architectures for cloud‑based applications. You will continually evaluate and apply best practices to facilitate continuous improvement that can be applied across teams.

Required Qualifications

• Ongoing studies within a Bachelor’s program in Computer Science or similar field with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Familiarity with Agile and DevSecOps concepts and best practices.
• Fundamental background with software design patterns and programming languages.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills.
• Self‑starter who can work independently while possessing the communication skills to work effectively with software development teams and customers.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to obtain U.S. DoD Secret security clearance.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems, network administration, and networking protocols/functions (e.g., HTTP, HTTPS, SSL/TLS, SMTP, DNS).
• Experience provisioning and managing resources within IaaS/Cloud infrastructures (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform, etc.).
• Experience with container technologies such as Docker and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
• Experience with GitOps tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, Chef, Puppet, Ansible or similar technologies.
• Professional cybersecurity certification such as Security+, or similar.
